GeoExchange / GeoThermal

GeoExchange systems work in both directions: they are as capable of efficiently cooling your space as heating it.  To cool your space, this type of system basically works the same as it does when heating your space, but in reverse. Instead of drawing heat from the ground or surface water and pumping warm air inside, it draws heat from the warm air inside and releases it back into the ground or surface water.

GeoExchange for Aquaculture

Far from being simply a means of heating or cooling an indoor space, GeoExchange technology can be used to Process Heating and Cooling to control water temperatures in aquaculture facilities as well. Lockhart Industries has pioneered the use of GeoExchange technology in fish hatcheries throughout the western coast of Canada, and they are still leading the way.

Commercial, Industrial or Institutional GeoExchange / GeoThermal Systems

It’s important for a business owner to keep their operating costs down as much as possible, so having a GeoExchange system installed is a practical and smart choice. These systems use only a tiny amount of electricity to run, and they access natural heat underground or underwater. There are four different GeoExchange systems suitable for commercial use: Boiler/Tower, Open Ground Water Loop, Closed Earth Loop and Surface Water systems.

Air to Air Heat Pumps

Normally called HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Air to Air Heat Pumps take warmth directly from the air. In the summer, they cool your home by drawing the heat out and pumping it outside, leaving your space cool and comfortable. There are two basic units for HVAC systems:

• Outdoor- An outdoor HVAC unit acts like a hub for your indoor units. You can connect two or three indoor units to it as in a VRF or VRV or one Indoor unit as in a conventional heat pump arrangement, allowing the owner to customize their HVAC according to their needs.
• Indoor- Indoor air handlers deliver air through a duct system to warm or cool the building. There are also ductless wall or ceiling mounted options.

VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) or VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) Heat Pumps

Daikin Central Heating and Air Conditioning Systems can provide comfort control for spaces up to 3000 square feet and up to 10 rooms. In addition to controlling the temperature inside your space, this type of system can both purify and circulate the air, improving the air quality in your home or business.

Together with an air handler, a heat pump can actually heat and cool your interior space. Basically, the pump helps cool the inside of a home or business in the summer by taking warm air from inside and expelling it outside and heats the inside by bringing warm air in from the outside (even in winter). A Daikin heat pump can draw heat from the outside air even in winter temperatures as low as -25° Celsius.

Air Conditioning Services

It’s not just heating that we’re known for; we do cooling as well.  As experts in all things air conditioning, we install a variety of different systems including ductless split air conditioners (which is essentially a heat pump doubling as an air conditioner), central air conditioning systems as well as furnace add-on air con systems which utilize the same ductwork as your existing furnace uses.
